Where Are They Now?

Once we have raised a puppy for approximately a year and the puppy returns to the Guide Dogs campus for formal training, the puppy begins a 10-phase training process. Click here for a brief description of these phases. The puppy may graduate and go on to work as a guide dog for a visually-impaired partner, may become a breeder, or may be career changed, which means it is released from the program. This can happen for a number of reasons, from allergies to food obsession to bird distractions to confidence issues and more. Here is what some of the dogs raised in this club are doing now:

	Cunningham was born on January 10, 2004. His mom is "Happy" and his dad is "Folsum". He's a yellow Lab and was raised by Claudia, Sophia and Anastasia.	Cunningham was recalled on April 17, 2005 and is currently in training.
	Canyon was born on January 10, 2004. His mom is "Happy" and his dad is "Folsum". He's a yellow Lab and was raised by Laura Bain.	Canyon was recalled on April 17, 2005 and is currently in training.
	Rancher was born on January 5, 2004. His mom is "Bronwyn" and his dad is "Astro". He's a black Lab and was raised by Pam Foster.	Rancher was recalled on April 17, 2005 and is currently in training.
	Halogen was born on August 19, 2003. Her mom is "Glenna" and her dad is "Astro". She's a yellow Lab/Golden cross and was raised by Michelle and Dan Marine.	Halogen was recalled on October 28, 2004 and is currently in training.
	Fletcher was born on August 16, 2003. His mom is "Caddy" and his dad is "Sabella". He's a black Lab who was transferred to our club from Caņon City on July 14, 2004 and was raised by Mike Wilcox.	Fletcher was recalled on October 28, 2004 and is currently in training.
	Joe was born on April 26, 2003. His mom is "Floretta" and his dad is "Baker". He's a yellow Lab being raised by Julia & Dan Fredrickson.	Joe was recalled on September 16, 2004 and was career changed in November 2004 for medical reasons. He will be placed for adoption by GDB.
	Emma was born on March 13, 2003. Her mom is "Charlotte" and her dad is "Folsum". She's a yellow Lab being raised by the Kellogg family (Holly, Christina, & Cady).	Emma was recalled on August 29, 2004 and is currently in training.
	Dalton was born on March 1, 2004. Her mom is "Cassie" and her dad is "Tiburon". He's a yellow Lab and was raised by Trudy.	Dalton was transferred out of our club and is now being raised in another club in Colorado.
	Fortune was born on August 16, 2003. Her mom is "Caddy" and her dad is "Sabella". She's a black Lab and was raised by Dawn S.	Fortune was career changed for medical reasons after being transferred out of our club and raised in Arizona. She was placed for adoption by GDB.
	Cleone was born on January 30, 2003. Her mom is "Roseanna" and her dad is "Pickford". She's a yellow Lab and was raised by Becky Bain.	Cleone was recalled on May 9, 2004 and graduated on November 13, 2004. She is currently living and working in St. Louis, MO.
	Pep was born on November 23, 2002. His mom is "Ophelia" and his dad is "Baker". He's a yellow Lab and was raised by Laura Bain. He was transferred to our club from the Born to Lead puppy raising club in Utah when he was 7 months old.	Pep was career changed for aggressive behavior and dominance issues in February 2004 before being recalled. He was returned to GDB for rehabilitation and placement for adoption. Sadly, he passed away on May 14, 2004.
	Leonardo was born on April 28, 2003. His mom is "Dapple" and his dad is "Tavish". He's a yellow Lab and was raised by Chantal & Andrew Wilford.	Leonardo was career changed for allergies in December 2003 at age 8 months and adopted by his raisers.
	Blancett was born on August 4, 2002. Her mom is "Summer" and her dad is "Barnaby". She's a Golden Retriever and was raised by Michelle & Dan Marine.	Blancett was career changed for dog aggression in October 2003 before being recalled. She is now living with Michelle's parents in Missouri.
	Ripa was born on July 13, 2002. Her mom is "Oona" and her dad is "Thompson". She's a black Lab and was raised by Katie Tucker.	Ripa was recalled on October 24, 2003 and was career changed for confidence issues in December 2003. She was adopted by her raiser, Katie. Tragically, Katie, 18, and Ripa were killed in a car accident on November 29, 2004 and buried together on December 3, 2004.
	Quinlan was born on July 11, 2002. He's a black Lab and was raised by Trisha and Pat Goodhue before being transferred out of this club in July 2003.	Quinlan was recalled on October 24, 2003 and was career changed for dog aggression in December 2003.
	Kalina was born on July 1, 2002. Her mom is "Lena" and her dad is "Nagel". She's a black Lab and was raised by Dawn S.	Kalina was recalled on October 24, 2003 and in December 2003 was chosen to be a breeder. She whelped her first litter of 6 pups (1 black male, 2 black females, and 3 yellow females) on February 20, 2004.
	Putter was born on May 28, 2002. His mom is "Doreen" and his dad is "Fabian". He's a yellow Lab and was raised by Lynda Thomas.	Putter was recalled on October 24, 2003 and graduated in April 2004. He is now living and working in Pennsylvania.
	Vaquero was born on May 7, 2002. His mom is "Willette" and his dad is "Nagel". He's a black Lab and was raised by Susan Corrigan. Vaquero went to school every day at Mountain Ridge Middle School with his raiser, who is an 8th grade teacher. He loves to run in the back yard and jump in his baby pool to cool off.	Vaquero was recalled on October 24, 2003 and graduated in May 2004. He now lives and works in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
	Sage was born on March 21, 2002. Her mom is "Georgia" and her dad is "Anakin". She's a German Shepherd and was raised by the Kellogg family (Holly, Jessica, Christina, & Cady). Her brother Saylor was also in this club.	Sage was recalled on August 10, 2003 and was tentatively selected to be a breeder but was then returned to Oregon where she graduated on September 11, 2004. Sage lives and works in a suburb of Minneapolis, living with her partner, David, his wife and a retired GSD guide named Pandy.
	Saylor was born on March 21, 2002. His mom is "Georgia" and his dad is "Anakin". He's a German Shepherd and was raised by Laura Bain. His sister Sage was also in this club.	Saylor was recalled on June 28, 2003 and was career changed in early August for medical reasons (retinal fold). He is now back with his raiser in Colorado Springs.
	Peso was born on August 16, 2001. His mom is "Sybil" and his dad is "Sprig". He's a yellow Lab and was raised by Michelle & Dan Marine in the Phoenix Puppy Raising Club.	Peso was recalled in October 2002 and was career changed in December 2002 due to his allergies. He is now back with his raisers in Colorado Springs and has embarked on a new career as a therapy dog.
	Nixie was born on August 7, 2001. Her mom is "Wells" and her dad is "Fabian". She's a yellow Lab and was raised by Chantal & Andrew Wilford in the VIP3 club of Orange County, CA.	Nixie was recalled on November 30, 2002. She was career changed in February 2003 for being "body sensitive" and consistently trying to shake off the harness. She is now back with her raisers in Colorado Springs and has embarked on a new career as a therapy dog.
	Chauncey was born on March 12, 2001. His mom is Clairons Starry, a black lab, and his dad is Naiken Indian, a chocolate lab. Chauncey is a chocolate Lab from an outside litter and was raised by Lynda Thomas & Jim Bruneau.	Chauncey was recalled on August 10, 2002. He was career changed for being highly energetic and obsessed with food. He is now happy to be back with his raisers in Colorado Springs.
	Wonder was born on January 27, 2001. Her mom is "Shay" and her dad is "Digger". She's a black Labrador Retriever and was raised by the Kellogg family.	Wonder was recalled in May 2002. She was career changed in June 2002 for animal distraction related issues (which she hasn't demonstrated at home). She too is back in Colorado with the Kellogg Family, but plans to move to Ft. Collins, summer 2003, to attend college with Jessica & Christina Kellogg (who cannot live without her).
	Kendall was born on January 2, 2001. He's a yellow Lab and was raised by Lori Corcoran.	Kendall was recalled on May 2, 2002. He was career changed on July 2, 2002 because of his allergies. He is now happy to be back with his raiser in Colorado Springs.
	Mazie was born on September 28, 2000. Her mom is "Henrietta" and her dad is "Rashad". She's a yellow Labrador Retriever and was raised by Becky & Laura Bain.	Mazie was recalled on November 30, 2001. She graduated twice: on May 18, 2002 and October 5, 2002 and went into early retirement on February 18, 2003. Mazie had two failed matches with partners, and Guide Dogs decided not to try and match her a third time. She is now living with an adoptive family in Woodland Park, Colorado.
	Kotter was born on March 18, 2000. His mom is "Yuma" and his dad is "Olson". He's a yellow Lab and was raised by Becky & Laura Bain.	Kotter was career changed in January 2001, when he was about eight months of age, due to hip dysplasia. He is now living with an adoptive family in Guymon, Oklahoma.
	Dorli was born on January 21, 2000. Her mom is "Wynonna" and her dad is "Arctic". She is the half sister of "Soria." She's a yellow Lab and was raised by the Kellogg family.	Dorli was recalled March 11, 2001 and graduated. She is currently living and working with her blind partner Lillian Wyer in Upper Darby, PA, where she enjoys being on a Bowling league and going to choir practice.
	Bearden was born on November 17, 1999. His mom is "Risa" and he's a cross between a Golden Retriever and a yellow Lab. He was raised by Lori Corcoran.	Bearden was recalled on March 30, 2001 and was career changed on November 30, 2001 for self-mutilation and stress. He is now happy to be back in Colorado Springs with his raiser.
	Truth was born on March 12, 1999. Her mom is "Josephine" and her dad is "Sullivan". She's a Golden Retriever and was raised by Becky & Laura Bain.	Truth was recalled on May 20, 2000 and graduated on October 21, 2000. She is now living and working in Columbus, Ohio.
	Soria was born on January 8, 1999. Her mom is "Wynonna" and her dad is "Bando". She's a Yellow Labrador Retriever and was raised by the Kellogg family.	Soria was career changed in March 2000 due to an "iffy" right hip. She now lives in Colorado with her raiser family, the Kelloggs. She has been working as a Therapy dog with S & S Therapy Dogs since April 2000, visiting nursing homes and deaf children at the Colorado School for the Deaf & Blind.
	Reece was born on March 12, 1998. His mom is "Glynis" and his dad is "Seaver". He's a yellow Lab and was raised by Becky & Laura Bain.	Reece was recalled in May 1999 and graduated on November 5, 1999. He is now living and working in Kaycee, Wyoming. Reece is a littermate of Roselle, who became famous after she guided her partner to safety on 9/11/01.
	Pacer was born on May 17, 1997. He's a black Lab and was raised by Becky & Laura Bain.	Pacer was career changed in February 1998, when he was just 9 months old, for bi-lateral hip dysplasia, and GDB fixed both his hips. He was adopted by his raisers and lives with Becky Bain.
	Seaver was born on March 27, 1996. His mom is "Jun" from Guiding Eyes for the Blind and his dad is "Karloff" from Guide Dogs for the Blind. He's a yellow Lab and was raised by Becky & Laura Bain.	Seaver was recalled in July 1997 and was soon chosen to be a breeder. He is now living in San Rafael, California, with his breeder-keeper. Seaver is the product of a breeding between a Guiding Eyes for the Blind mother and a Guide Dogs for the Blind dad. The two schools split the litter, with five of them remaining at GEB, and five of them coming to GDB. Seaver's most famous offspring is Roselle, who was with her partner Michael Hingson in the north tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Thanks in part to Roselle's willingness to keep on guiding even under extraordinary circumstances, they both made it out safely.
